About Me

My name is Desirée Talbot. I am a photographer and I live with my husband, artist and photographer Ian Talbot, in North-East London.

I was born in Vancouver, Canada, but my early years were spent in South Africa, returning to Vancouver to live at the age of ten. Later educated in the UK, I have mostly resided since then in London.

My photographic work varies between the quieter and more considered pieces that I create both in the studio and outside of it using my "full size" equipment and the more immediately intuitive work I do with my iPhone and Nikon J1 cameras mostly in and around the Kensington area of Central London. In the latter I have striven to maintain a balance between form and colour in which the one complements and enhances the other.

I have no particular preference for either mode of working. They are merely different forms of expression requiring a separate technique and outlook...
